How do I book a home?

Booking accommodation is easy! You can book directly on this website by clicking the "see availability" button on the left, or you can call or WhatsApp our office at +1 809-361-3868 and one of our friendly reservation agents will be happy to help you.  
Is booking online secure?
Yeah! We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the security of your personal information. We offer the use of a secure server. All confidential and credit card information provided is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and is then encrypted into our payment gateway provider's database. It will only be accessible to those authorized with special rights to said systems. They are legally required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, finances, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.  
How far is the airport?
The nearest airport (Santiago International Airport STI) is 41 minutes from Jarabacoa. We will be happy to arrange transportation to and from the airport (cost is $100 USD each way).  
What are the benefits of renting a whole vacation property as opposed to staying in a resort?
Privacy. You could have your own pool and your own space including a secluded patio, well-equipped kitchen, barbecue, comfortable bedrooms, private bathrooms and excellent on-site amenities, all depending on the property chosen. We believe our properties are homes away from home; There are no tight resort spaces here. No lines, no waiting for services or amenities. You will never wait in line to eat at your accommodation; Simply walk to any nearby restaurant or ask a chef to cook for you! We also offer excursions at very competitive prices and priority service.
Is Jarabacoa secure?
Yes, security is of utmost importance to us and Jarabacoa is the city with the lowest level of crime in the country. We also have a team of experts who can accompany you to different activities, who know the area, the locals and the culture. We are the safest vacation provider in Jarabacoa.
Is there a hospital nearby?
Yes, in the center of the city there is the Octavia Maria Gautier Hospital. In addition to 3 or 4 very high quality Private Medical Clinics. Our staff can help you call emergency services. This hospital accepts most medical benefit plans and travel insurance.
How close is the river and the spas?
We are located in the city with the most freshwater rivers in the country and the most pleasant climate all year round. Below is a list of the main Rivers of Jarabacoa:
  • Camu: The Camú is the main river of the province of La Vega. It passes through Jarabacoa through different communities, making up many of the city's spas. It is born in the Central Mountain Range, in the Loma de La Sal (Casabito), in the Ébano Verde Scientific Reserve, traveling through the plains of Jarabaco, Vega and Cibao Central for 101 kilometers until its mouth in the Yuna, in the municipality of Pimentel, San Francisco de Macoris.
  • Jimenoa: This is one of the main rivers of Jarabacoa that runs through the center and joins the Baiguate River in La Confluencia Park. Jimeno has 2 waterfalls, which are also tourist attractions in the municipality. In addition to several spas, highlighting La Confluencia and Salto de Jimenoa 2.
  • Yaque del Norte: The Yaque del Norte River is a river located in the Dominican Republic. It is the longest river in the country, it is home to the famous Las Guazaras de Jarabacoa spa, La Presa de Tavera, and through this flow the “River Rafting” activity in Jarabacoa is also carried out.
  • Baiguate: This river has the famous Baiguate waterfall, which is also a very tourist attraction in Jarabacoa and many resorts.
What about shopping and groceries?
Jarabacoa has three large grocery stores that sell North American and European brands. Each has ATMs that dispense Dominican pesos. The bank card from your home country should work fine. Properties DR also offers transportation service to take you to your desired stores and help you purchase your groceries. Please ask when you reserve. You can buy souvenirs, clothes, etc. both in the cities of Jarabacoa and La Vega. For larger, big box type purchases, La Sirena in La Vega and Santiago is an excellent option. Ask our team for directions or transportation.  
How do I book excursions?

Can I rent a vehicle?
Yes, our Properties DR staff will be happy to help you rent a car or SUV.
Can I rent a mobile phone?
Cellular service is provided by Claro and Altice mainly in the D.R. If you would like a mobile phone during your stay, please carry a copy of your passport and any of the providers will be able to connect you.  
Taxi service?
Properties DR staff will be happy to arrange a taxi with one of the many friendly and reputable drivers.  
Are there good restaurants?
Yeah! We can say that Jarabacoa is full of restaurants with delicious food, pizzerias, and a varied a la carte menu.  
Can I exchange money at Jarabacoa?
Of course, in Jarabacoa there are two Caribe Express offices, the exchange house that has the best exchange rate in the country. Also, almost all commercial establishments in the Dominican Republic accept payments with US Dollars.  
What type of currency should I bring?
US dollars are the most easily exchangeable foreign currency into the local Dominican Republic currency, Pesos, or RD.
Do you have good Internet and cable service?
Yes, each accommodation is usually equipped with individual wireless Internet service and offers a complete TV/cable package with many American channels.  
What is the electricity in the DR?
The power operates at 110 volts (like North America).  If you are travelling from Europe or Brasil, please bring an adapter.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No not at all.  Our staff speak Spanish and English.  In almost all restaurants you will find English speaking staff.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Sorry, no.  Pets are not allowed in the rental properties.
